
Norfolk signs two

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. â The Norfolk Admirals announced today that they have signed forward Bobby Russell and goaltender Matt Underhill to professional tryouts (PTO). Both players are expected to join the team this evening in Lowell, Massachusetts, when the Blue and Gold face the Lock Monsters (Carolina/Calgary) at 7:00 p.m.
Russell began the season with Norfolk on a PTO, posting 1+2=3 points and 14 PIM in 29 games. He was released on January 9 and joined the Florence Pride (ECHL) where he recorded 6+11=17 points and 16 PIM in 20 contests.
Underhill has appeared in 27 games with Florence this year, going 9-14-3 with a 3.57 GAA and a .892 spct. He played in four games for the Manchester Monarchs (AHL) earlier this season, registering a 2-2-0 record with a 2.90 GAA and a .903 spct.
The Blue and Gold are in action again tomorrow in Bridgeport (New York Islanders) at 7:05 p.m. All games are broadcast on AM-1230 WJOI and cybercast through www.sportsjuice.com. Broadcasts begin 15 minutes prior to face off.
