Rampage sign Spiewak to PTO

SAN ANTONIO – Feb. 20, 2004 – San Antonio Rampage General Manager Bobby Jay announced today that the Rampage have signed forward Kevin Spiewak to a Professional Tryout Offer. He is expected to join the team in Winnipeg, Manitoba in time for their game tonight against the Moose at 7:30 p.m.

Spiewak, 24, joins the Rampage after playing 49 games with the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL) this season. The Schaumburg, Illinois native has 16 goals and 24 assists, ranking third on the Stingrays with 40 points. Earlier this season, Spiewak attended training camp with the Detroit Red Wings.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound forward spent three regular season games, recording 1-1-2 totals and four penalty minutes last season with the Portland Pirates (AHL), and three playoff games, scoring a goal. Prior to his AHL debut, Spiewak spent the last four seasons with the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux. As a senior, Spiewak netted 15 goals and added 14 assists for 29 points in 42 games.
