
Dallas Stars Assign Glennie & Rome to Texas Stars

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has reassigned defenseman Aaron Rome to Texas and has activated center Scott Glennie from injured non-roster and assigned him to Texas. The Stars also announced that the club has loaned left wing Brock Montgomery to the Idaho Steelheads, their ECHL affiliate.
Rome, 30, was activated from injured non-roster and assigned to Texas on October 14th on a conditioning assignment. The Nesbitt, Manitoba native recorded three shots and six penalty minutes in three games with Texas before being recalled by Dallas on Oct. 21.
Glennie, 22, suffered an injury while playing for the Dallas Stars during an NHL preseason game on and was placed on injured non-roster. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native was drafted by Dallas in the first round (8th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Glennie has played in111 career AHL games for Texas and has 51 points (17 goals, 34 assists) and 38 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut with Dallas on April 7, 2012 vs. St. Louis.
Montgomery, 21, made his professional debut with Texas on October 5th against Chicago and has played in three AHL games with the Stars this season. The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan signed an AHL contract with Texas on March 30, 2013 after completing his fourth season of manjor junior hockey with the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League. In 243 career WHL games Montgomery had 119 points (65 goals, 54 assists) and 328 penalty minutes.
The Dallas Stars host the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday, October 26th at American Airlines Center. Puck drop for Saturday's contest is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT.
Texas will begin its longest road trip of the season this weekend, making a five-game, 10-day journey through the Midwest. The Stars will face the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday, October 26th at 7:00 p.m. at BMO Harris Bradley Center. Texas will return home on Friday, November 8th for the beginning of Stars & Stripes Military Appreciation Weekend presented by Sport Clips, facing Milwaukee at 7:00 p.m. at Cedar Park Center.
