GLENS FALLS, NY - Peter Holland scored twice, while John Gibson earned a 38-save shutout to lead the Norfolk Admirals (4-1-0-2, 10pts) to a 3-0 victory over the Adirondack Phantoms at the Glens Falls Civic Center Friday night.

Norfolk's Peter Holland recorded the game's first goal on an excellent individual effort. Holland won the faceoff in the offensive zone and directed the puck into the corner. Holland tracked down the puck and carried it to the circle and fired a shot at Adirondack goaltender Yann Danis. Danis stopped the shot, but the rebound bounced right back to Holland who then slipped the puck around an outstretched Danis for the goal at 3:48 of the opening frame.

Holland helped set up the Admirals second goal winning another offensive zone faceoff. Holland directed the puck to Garnet Exelby at the point. Exelby fired a shot that was tipped and redirected into the net for the goal by Max Sauve. The goal was Sauve's first of the season and extended the Norfolk lead to two.

Moments later, Holland continued his strong game by factoring on Norfolk's third goal of the game. Holland fielded the puck on the left wing and snapped a long-ranged shot that clipped past Danis to give the Admirals a 3-0 advantage after 40 minutes played.

Adirondack peppered the Admirals net all night long, but Norfolk goaltender John Gibson turned aside everything the Phantoms threw his way to preserve the 3-0 Norfolk victory.

Gibson made 38 saves to earn his first career shutout. Danis takes the loss allowing three goals on 27 shots faced.
