Adirondack Phantoms News Release
The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that Tye McGinn (F) has been loaned to the Adirondack Phantoms, according to Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren.
Tye McGinn, 23, was originally recalled by the Flyers two weeks ago, joining the team in Detroit on Oct. 12. He has appeared in the last four games with Philadelphia, posting three goals, seven shots and four penalty minutes. He posted his first-ever two-goal game on October 15 vs. Vancouver. McGinn also averaged 14:31 of ice-time during his stint which included 1:51 average time on the power play.
McGinn began the season with the Adirondack Phantoms and scored a goal in two games, lighting the lamp on the first game of the year, October 5 at Hershey. Last season, McGinn played in 18 games with the Flyers scoring 3-2-5 with 19 penalty minutes. He also played in 46 games with Adirondack scoring 14-12-26 with 54 PIM. The younger brother of NHL'er Jamie McGinn is in his third season of professional hockey. Tye McGinn had something of a dream-week at the end of January last year.
On January 22 he made his NHL debut against the New Jersey Devils shortly after his first in-season recall by the Flyers. A couple days later he won over many of the Flyers fans with his first NHL fight against Kris Newbury of the New York Rangers who is now teammates with McGinn in Philadelphia. And then on January 26, McGinn scored his first NHL goal in an away game at the Florida Panthers.
Last year, McGinn established a Phantoms' franchise record when he scored a goal just nine seconds into a game on March 24, 2013 against the Portland Pirates. McGinn was a fourth-round selection of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft out of the Gatineau Olympics of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Phantoms are at home Friday night against the Norfolk Admirals, AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks. For tickets, call the Phantoms at 518-480-3355. Adirondack will play an away game on Saturday at the Binghamton Senators.

25 Terrific Seasons
Glens Falls is celebrating its 25th season hosting an AHL team and in so doing now joins an elite group of only 12 other cities who can make such a claim. It's a great hockey tradition with an old-school feel that began with the Adirondack Red Wings in 1979 who won four Calder Cups in their 20-year run at the GFCC. The Adirondack Phantoms began play in Glens Falls in 2009-2010 and are beginning their fifth season.
