
Daavettila Named CCM ECHL Player of the Month for January

WINDSOR, Colo. - - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the NHL's Calgary Flames and Adirondack Flames of the AHL, announced Wednesday that forward Trent Daavettila has been named the CCM ECHL"ËPlayer of the Month for January. It is the third time in his career that Daavettila has won the monthly honor, tying him for the second most in ECHL"Ëhistory.
Daavettila scored seven goals, added 20 assists and was a +10 during January, helping the Eagles to an 11-3-1 record during the month.
The 30-year-old had at least one point in all 14 games during January, including four three-point games and six two-point games. He tallied multiple points in each of the final six games of the month, scoring 13 points (4g-9a) over that stretch.
A native of Howell, Mich., Daavettila is tied for third in the ECHL"Ëwith 33 assists and he leads Colorado with 42 points this season.
Daavettila, who was named to the All-ECHL"ËSecond Team last season, has recorded 378 points (119g-259a) in 355 career ECHL"Ëgames with Colorado and Kalamazoo. He has added seven points (2g-5a) in 22 career American Hockey League games with Lake Erie, Chicago,"ËSt. John's, Grand Rapids and Adirondack.
