Tulsa Oilers Annual "Pink in the Rink Night" Set for Saturday
February 4, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
TULSA, OK - For a seventh consecutive year, the BOK Center will be plastered in pink on Saturday, February 7 as the Tulsa Oilers host the Rapid City Rush on TD Williamson "Pink In The Rink Night" benefiting Turn Tulsa Pink. The puck drops at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday and the Oilers are encouraging all fans to wear pink in support of cancer survivors, patients, and their families.
The Oilers players will wear special pink jerseys which will be auctioned off immediately following the game to raise money for Turn Tulsa Pink, a non-profit organization which provides assistance to men's, women's, and children's cancer charities across northeast Oklahoma.
Throughout the game, fans will have the opportunity to make a donation and sign the Oilers' pink zamboni with the name of a loved one or friend who has been affected by cancer. Fans can also support the cause by purchasing links in a paper chain that will contain the names of cancer survivors or those who have lost their bout with the disease. During the second intermission, the chain will be stretched across the ice as all cancer survivors in attendance are honored by the crowd. Two weeks ago, six Oilers players had their toes painted pink and prior to the game, fans can visit www.turntulsapink.org to vote on their favorite hockey player's pink toenails.
Turn Tulsa Pink supports all people affected by cancer in communities throughout the Tulsa area. Turn Tulsa Pink volunteers believe that pink is not the color of just one cancer, but the color of passion, power, and love. No one cancer is more devastating than another when it happens to you or someone you love. Turn Tulsa Pink is a local door-to-door network of people dedicated to helping patients and families during their struggle against cancer.
TD Williamson is on the leading edge of pipeline equipment and services. An innovative leader in the industry for more than 90 years, TD Williamson delivers onshore and offshore applications for pipelines systems around the world.
The Oilers are privileged to work closely with committed community partners like TD Williamson and Turn TulsaPink to raise awareness for the ongoing fight against cancer and support patients and their families during a time of need.
