Colorado's Daavettila Named CCM ECHL Player of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Colorado Eagles' forward Trent Daavettila has been named the CCM ECHL Player of the Month for January. It is the third time in his career that Daavettila has won the monthly honor, tying him for the second most in ECHL history.

Daavettila scored seven goals, added 20 assists and was a +10 during January, helping the Eagles to an 11-3-1 record during the month.

The 30-year-old had at least one point in all 14 games during January, including four three-point games and six two-point games. He tallied multiple points in each of the final six games of the month, scoring 13 points (4g-9a) over that stretch.

A native of Howell, Mich., Daavettila is tied for third in the ECHL with 33 assists and he leads Colorado with 42 points this season.

Daavettila, who was named to the All-ECHL Second Team last season, has recorded 378 points (119g-259a) in 355 career ECHL games with Colorado and Kalamazoo. He has added seven points (2g-5a) in 22 career American Hockey League games with Lake Erie, Chicago, St. John's, Grand Rapids and Adirondack.
