
Elmira Rallies for 6-5 Overtime Victory

ELMIRA, NY -- Lucas Bloodoff scored the game winning goal at 2:10 of overtime to lift the Elmira Jackals to a 6-5 victory over the Everblades Wednesday night at First Arena.
The Everblades took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission on goals from Matt Marquardt and Mike Aviani
Florida built its lead in the second as Patrick McEachen and Adam Brace lit the lamp to to extend the lead 4-1. Elmira grabbed its second goal of the game on the power play when Mike Seidel poked the puck past Florida goaltender Andy Iles.
Elmira continued its comeback bid in the third, as Thomas Nesbitt tipped and redirected a shot into the net at 1:35 of the period to pull Elmira within one.
The Jackals tied the game at four at 12:53 on Nesbitt's second tipped shot goal of the game.
Elmira took the lead on its fourth unanswered goal of the game with 1:09 remaining. Mike Seidel delivered the puck from behind the net to the crease area. Florida's Chris Kushneriuk instinctively reached to grab the puck but accidentally tipped it into the net for the go-ahead goal.
Florida netted the equalizer with the extra attacker, when Cameron Burt unleashed a a shot into the back of the Elmira net with 48 seconds remaining to force overtime.
Elmira took advantage on a delayed penalty in the extra session. The Jackals slid a pass across the crease to Lucas Bloodoff who backhanded the puck past Iles for the game winner at 2:07 of overtime.
Iles takes the loss allowing six goals on 35 shots. Nick Niedert earns the wiin in a relie effort stopping 16 of 17 shots. Chris Rawlings was pulled fom the game in the second period after allowing four goals on 17 shots.
The Everblades now travel to Reading on Friday to take on the Royals. Game time is set for 7:35 pm.
