Cyclones Drop 4-2 Verdict To Dayton

CINCINNATI - A pair of second period power play goals from the Dayton Bombers launched the club to a 4-2 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday night. The defeat spoiled the ‘Nashville Predators Night' promotion held by Cincinnati.

Following a scoreless first period, the teams each netted a pair of goals in the second period. Cincinnati opened the scoring 4:49 into the frame when center Barret Ehgoetz netted his fourth goal of the season from Mark Matheson to open a 1-0 lead. Dayton knotted the game at 1-1, when Bobby Chaumont collected his second goal of the year at 10:22 on the power play. The Cyclones regained the lead at 16:33 when Scott Reynolds picked up his sixth goal of the campaign from David Desharnais and Jean-Michel Daoust. Before the stanza expired, Dayton tied the game at 2-2, when Chris Eade scored his second goal of the season on the man-advantage at 17:52.

The Bombers netted the game winning goal at 16:37 of the third period, when Brad Bonello picked up his third goal of the season. A goal from Mike Berry at 18:12 sealed the contest for Dayton, his third of the year. For the evening, Cincinnati outshot the Bombers, 39-23.

The Cyclones fall to 10-5-1 on the season, while Dayton improves to 7-6-3.

Cincinnati hosts Elmira on Wednesday night (Nov. 28) at U.S. Bank Arena, face off is set for 7:30pm.
