Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release

ESTERO, FL - Rookie Luke Erickson scored two goals and Mike Brodeur stopped 43 Florida shots as the Ice Pilots finished their five game road trip with a 3-1 win over the Everblades at Germain Arena.

Brad Zancanaro scored the game's first goal for the second straight night, getting his fifth of the season. The Pilots responded less than a minute later as Luke Erickson scored his 4th goal of the year in traffic and his second of the series to even things up at one. The Ice Pilots had a season high 21 shots in the first period.

Erickson continued his prowess as he netted his second goal of the night and fifth of the season. It was a shorthanded tally, the first for the Ice Pilots this year and it put Pensacola up 2-1.

Brodeur was strong in net, making 20 saves in the third period and Chris Straube added some insurance with help from Mike Sgroi on a two on one to give the Ice Pilots a 3-1 lead and sending the Pilots back home to Pensacola on a winning note as they begin a three game homestand on Tuesday night against Augusta.
