Fresno Falcons News Release

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons ended their three-game winless streak with a 2-1 win over the Alaska Aces in front of 4,733 fans at Save Mart Center on Saturday.

Fresno carried a 1-0 lead into the first intermission courtesy of Mike Ramsay's third goal of the season at 13:27. Ramsay skated into the Alaska zone, and took a quick shot from the right-wing circle which deflected off of goaltender Kris Tebbs and into the net.

The Falcons doubled their lead 17:09 into the second period. Igor Gongalsky's shot from the left-wing circle hit Tebbs in the shoulder area, dropped in the crease, and rolled across the line to make it 2-0.

But, Alaska came right back 38 seconds later to pull within one. Barrett Heisten's shot from the left-wing side hit off the post, and rolled right to F.P. Guenette on the right-wing side. Guenette slid a shot past Kris Mayotte cutting Fresno's lead to one heading into the final period.

The one-goal lead was enough for the Falcons, as Kris Mayotte made 28 saves, including seven in the third period, to pick up the win.

The Falcons continue their four-game home stand on Sunday, taking on the Utah Grizzlies for the first time this season at 5:00 p.m.

Tickets for all Falcons' home games can be purchased at the Save Mart Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (559) 485-TIXS or www.ticketmaster.com. All Falcons games air on 790 ESPN Radio, The Deuce, starting with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show 15 minutes prior to face off.
