November 24, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced multiple roster transactions today. The team announced that goalie Daniel Manzato has been recalled by the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League (AHL). Defenseman Jason Krischuk has been called up the Quad City Flames of the AHL. Goalie Kevin Lalande has been assigned to Las Vegas by the Quad City Flames. The team also announced that goalie Tim Boron has been traded to the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) in exchange for financial considerations.
Krischuk gets his first call up to the AHL in his two-year career. The 27-year old is expected to be in the line-up when the Quad City Flames host the Peoria Rivermen at 5:05 pm PST. In 11 games this season, the Anchorage, AK native has one goal in seven assists for eight points with Las Vegas this season. Last year, the defenseman earned ECHL All-Star Honors as a rookie. During his first season pro, Krischuk had 19 assists and 21 points in 61 games.
Manzato left Las Vegas after winning all five starts and giving up 1.57 goals against while stopping .948 save percentage. Manzato was runner up for ECHL Goalie of the Week after shutting out Bakersfield and taking all three games at Rabobank Arena last week. This is Manzato's first recall to the AHL in only his first year of professional hockey in North America. After two starts in Charlotte earlier in the season, Manzato was reassigned to Las Vegas by the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League on November 8th. Manzato replaces former Wrangler goalie Kevin Nastiuk, who is injured in Albany.
Kevin Lalande is in his first professional season after playing the last four seasons in Belleville with the Ontario Hockey League's Bulls. The Calgary Flames drafted the Kingston, ON native in 2005 during the fifth round (#128 Overall). Prior to turning pro, Lalande posted a 67-46-12 record in Belleville. The 20-year old goalie had a 3.02 goals against average and a .916 save percentage in four years with the Bulls. Lalande has appeared in four games this season with Quad City, posting a 1-2-0 record with a 4.53 goals against average and a .837 save percentage. Lalande is expected to play when the Wranglers host the Phoenix RoadRunners Sunday at 5:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.
Goalie Tim Boron appeared in three games with Las Vegas, going 2-1-0 with a 2.14 goals against average and a .926 save percentage.
The Wranglers continue their six-game home stand with Teddy Bear Toss Night on Sunday, November 25th at 5:05 pm. Las Vegas fans may throw stuffed animals on the ice for charity after the Wranglers scored their first goal of the night.
