Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Wheeling, WV - The Wheeling Nailers evened the season series with Johnstown at two games each with a 4-2 win on Saturday night. Wheeling struck first against the Chiefs for the second consecutive game, this time Curtiss Patrick netted Wheeling's goal. Patrick took a carom off of the end boards and put it past Andrew Penner's left leg. Kevin Croxton and Gino Pisellini assisted.

The Nailers lengthened their lead thanks to a rebound goal by Adam Henrich at 13:03 of the second. Andrew Penner made the initial save with his catching glove, but couldn't hang on, and Henrich was there. Assists went to Jeremy Swanson and Kyle Rank. The goal came on the power play, breaking Johnstown's streak of seven straight periods without allowing a power play goal.

Alex Imbeault and Jean Desrochers would score for the Chiefs in the third period, but it wouldn't be enough as Wheeling got tallies from David Laliberte and Aaron Clarke to maintain the two goal advantage. Desrochers' goal did extend his point streak to seven games.

Andrew Penner made 23 saves against 27 shots while the Johnstown power play went 0-for-5. David Brown won his second game against Johnstown by making 21 saves on 23 shots, and benefited from a 2-for-6 Wheeling power play.
