
Cyclones Down Johnstown to Finish Week 1-1

The Cyclones recorded a 1-1 record last week with a win over Johnstown and a loss to Peoria. Newcomer Brett Clouthier was involved in every Clones goal this week. Clouthier assisted on both goals in Friday's 4-2 loss to Peoria and scored the lone regulation goal in Saturday's 2-1 shootout win over the Chiefs. This week the Clones host Dayton on Wednesday and Peoria on Friday before heading to Peoria on Saturday.
Game Recaps
Friday, November 14-Cyclones 2 vs. Peoria 4: The Clones dropped their second consecutive game vs. the Rivermen. Peoria scored two power-play goals in the final three minutes of the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Ryan Brindley scored the lone second period goal to cut the R-Men's lead in half at 2-1. Brindley's goal ended a Cyclones goal drought that lasted 154 minutes and 49 seconds. In the third, Randy Rowe scored twice to give the R-Men a 4-1 lead. Fraser Clair's power-play goal with 5:25 left in the third ended the scoring on the evening.
Saturday, November 15-Cyclones 2 vs. Chiefs 1-shootout: The Clones downed the top team in the Northern Division in dramatic fashion on Saturday. The teams played two scoreless periods before Dmitri Tarabrin gave Johnstown a 1-0 lead 6:23 into the third. Brett Clouthier would answer for the Clones with 7:28 left in the period. Clouthier tipped home Josh Harrold's point shot to even the game at one. After a scoreless overtime, the teams headed to a shootout. In the regulation shootout, Mark Concannon scored for the Clones and Dmitri Tarabrin answered for the Chiefs. After five shooters, the shootout remained tied at one and moved to sudden death. Randy Petruk stopped two J-Town shooters and Jason Norrie scored on the Clones' second attempt to win the game 2-1 for the Clones.
This Week
Wednesday, November 19-Dayton at Cincinnati: The Bombers visit U.S. Bank Arena for the second time this season on Wednesday. The Clones downed the Bombers 4-1 in Cincinnati on October 25th. On the season, the Clones are 2-1 against the Bombers.
Friday, November 21-Peoria at Cincinnati, Saturday, November 22-Cincinnati at Peoria: The Clones face a home and home series with the Peoria Rivermen this weekend. The R-Men have downed the Clones twice this season at U.S. Bank Arena. Peoria's Brendan Brooks, Alex Kim and Randy Rowe each have two goals in two games vs. the Clones this season.

-Terry Marchant played his 300th career game on Friday vs. Peoria.
-Fraser Clair has five points (two goals and three assists) in three games vs. Dayton this season.
-Brett Clouthier is the Clones' nominee for ECHL Player of the Week with a goal and two assists in his first two ECHL games.
