Pride Acquire Toughness

November 17, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release

FLORENCE, SC – The Florence Pride, proud members of the ECHL, announced today that they have traded Malcolm MacMillan to the Peoria Rivermen in exchange for right wing Craig Brunel (Brew-nell).

This is Brunel's fourth pro season. He has spent time each of the past three seasons in the American Hockey League with the Rochester Americans and Philadelphia Phantoms. In addition, he has played in the ECHL with the South Carolina Stingrays, Trenton Titans and Reading Royals along with his time in Peoria this season. In 162 professional games, he has 24 points and 624 penalty minutes.

"Craig brings to our team something we have lacked since training camp opened, a true tough guy," Pride coach Perry Florio said. "Two of our heavyweight recruits had season-ending injuries in NHL camps and never arrived in Florence. Craig's presence in our lineup will certainly fill that void."

The Pride open a four-game road trip this weekend, with a pair of games against the Florida Everblades on Friday and Saturday. Florence returns home on Friday, November 28, hosting the Reading Royals at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for all Pride home games are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, all TicketMaster outlets, by phone at (843) 679-9333 or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.
