Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Alaska Aces and Idaho Steelheads continue what amounts to a five-game series with second place in the Pacific Division on the line this week at Sullivan Arena.

Alaska did not practice Monday but will return to the ice for practice Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in preparation for three home games with Idaho, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. The Aces maintained their one-half game lead over the Steelheads with a split in Boise. Alaska's 4-1 victory Friday, keyed by a goal and two assists from Charles Linglet and 20 saves by Dan Murphy, marked its first at the Bank of America Centre during the regular season since February 14, 2001, a span of 33 months. The Aces fell to 8-5 overall on the season with a 6-1 loss to Idaho Saturday, during which Linglet's seven-game point scoring streak came to an end. Despite being shut out, he still leads all rookies with 11 assists and 17 points.

Joe Talbot did extend his point-scoring streak to seven games with an assist on Dave Csumrik's goal Saturday. Talbot and Csumrik have moved into a tie for fourth in the ECHL with a .267 shooting percentage. Mike Lee, who scored a one-punch knockdown in Saturday's defeat, leads the league with 10 major penalties while the Aces as a team set the pace in the ECHL with 29 majors and an average of 37.6 penalty minutes per game. Alaska also leads the league with five shorthanded goals and ranks tied for second in goal differential (+15, 47-32) despite losing by five goals Saturday.

Friday night's game against Idaho marks the first time that season ticket holders may redeem unused tickets. Season ticket holders may redeem those unused tickets for Friday night's game at the Aces new office located at 724 E. 15th Avenue between 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Additional weekend game dates eligible for unused ticket redemption already have been selected, including December 19 against Las Vegas, January 9 vs. San Diego, February 6 vs. Las Vegas, and February 20 against Long Beach.
