Crunch and American Red Cross to Hold Blood Drive on Friday, December 17

Syracuse, NY (December 10, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch and the Crunch Foundation, the club's charitable arm, announced today that they are partnering with the American Red Cross to hold a blood drive on Friday, December 17 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Memorial Hall at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena.

Anyone that donates blood will receive one (1) free ticket to the Crunch's game on December 18 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, an autographed t-shirt, and will be entered into a raffle to win a Crunch prize pack. Donors will also have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets to the December 18 game at a discounted rate of just $12.

Fans are encouraged to contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-448-3543 or visit www.donatebloodnow.org to schedule an appointment. Photo ID is required and walk-ins are welcome. In addition, the Mirabito Ice Girls and the Crunch's mascot, Al the Ice Gorilla, will make special appearances during the blood drive. Dunkin' Donuts will also be providing food and beverages to all donors.

Some four million people give blood - the gift of life - through the Red Cross, making it the largest supplier of blood and blood products in the United States. 3,200 units of blood are needed every month in Onondaga County.

The Crunch return home to The Oncenter War Memorial Arena on Friday, December 10 vs. Adirondack at 7:30 p.m. Season and single-game tickets for the 2010-11 season are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444, or by stopping by the Crunch office in The Oncenter War Memorial Arena, located at 800 South State Street in downtown Syracuse.
