
Bulldogs Edge Americans 3-2 in Overtime

Rochester, NY - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Rochester Americans 3-2 in overtime on Friday evening. Max Pacioretty scored his 16th goal of the season in the extra frame to snap the 'Dogs three game losing streak Pacioretty is currently tied for first in the AHL for goals scored and is now on a three-game goal scoring streak.
The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 17:01 of the first frame. Aaron Palushaj fed a pass to Andrew Conboy, who was positioned in front of the net. Conboy rifled a shot that sailed past Rochester starting goaltender Tyler Plante.
Palushaj gave the 'Dogs a 2-1 lead at 10:20 of the second stanza with a power-play marker. Andreas Engqvist received the puck from Brendon Nash before firing a shot that was stopped by Plante. Palushaj grabbed the loose rebound before stuffing it past Plante.
Rochester made the game 2-1 at 12:03 of the middle frame. Jordan Knackstedt dished the puck to Jeff LoVecchio, who was stationed in front of the net. LoVecchio redirected the puck past Hamilton starting goaltender Robert Mayer. The Americans tied the game 2-2 at 12:52 while on the power play. Clay Wilson fired a shot towards the net that was saved by Mayer. Michael Duco dashed towards the net and whacked the loose puck past Mayer and across the goal line.
The 'Dogs scored at 2:47 of overtime to win the game. Alex Henry sent the puck to Pacioretty, who snapped a shot on net. The puck bounced off the post and back to Pacioretty, who batted the puck past Plante and into the net.
The Bulldogs return to Copps Coliseum on Sunday, December 12th for a 1:00 p.m. game against the Toronto Marlies. Sunday's game will be broadcast nationally on CBC. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
