San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO (October 15, 2007) - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that the Phoenix Coyotes, the Rampage's parent club, have assigned left wing Josh Gratton to the American Hockey League Club for conditioning purposes after removing him from injured reserve.

Gratton, a 2005 Calder Cup Champion with the Philadelphia Phantoms, will begin play for San Antonio when the Rampage battle Rockford tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.

The 25-year-old suffered a broken finger during the Coyotes' first preseason game at Anaheim on Sept. 16 and has not yet played this regular season.

Gratton, who registered two points (1 goal, 1 assist) in three games with the Rampage last season, ranked 2nd in the NHL in penalty minutes (PIM) last year with 188. The 6-foot-2, 214-pound native of Brantford, Ontario also registered a goal and assist in 52 games with the Coyotes in 2006-07.

The Coyotes acquired Gratton from Philadelphia along with two 2nd round choices in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft for Denis Gauthier on Mar. 9, 2006. Gratton was originally signed as a free agent by Philadelphia on July 27, 2004.

In 134 career AHL games with the Cincinnati, Philadelphia and San Antonio, Gratton has recorded 39 points (21g, 18a) and 588 PIM.
