
Falcons Center Patrick Thoresen Named Player Of The Week

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that center Patrick Thoresen has been named the RBK / AHL Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, October 14, 2007. Thoresen led the Falcons with two goals and three assists for five points in helping Springfield to a 2-1 weekend. Thoresen was also a +5 rating and he currently leads the Falcons in scoring this season with three goals and four assists for seven points in six games.
Thoresen is in his second season of professional hockey after splitting last year between Wilkes-Barre and Edmonton. The 5-feet-11, 185-pound native of Hamar, Norway scored his first NHL goal on October 12, 2006 against the San Jose Sharks and he collected four goals and 12 assists for 16 points in 68 games with the Oilers last year.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday, October 20 when they head to Albany to take on the River Rats, followed by a Sunday matinee at Portland. Springfield remains in first-place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 4-2 through six games.
