A RIVALRY IS BORN
The Wolves will face-off against the Rockford IceHogs at the Allstate Arena on Friday, one of four teams Chicago will battle for the first time this season. The meeting will also mark the first time since 2002-03 that the Wolves will play against an AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks.
WOLVES HEADLINERS
--- JESSE SCHULTZ: Leads the squad with three assists and four points through two games ... Collected two helpers and three points in his Wolves debut in the season-opener on Oct. 6 ... Accrued 18 markers and 39 points in 67 games with the Manitoba Moose last season and was held scoreless in two games with the Vancouver Canucks during his NHL debut ... Notched 64 goals, 131 points and 133 penalty minutes in 219 career AHL matchups in four seasons with the Moose (2003 to 2007)
--- ONDREJ PAVELEC: Recorded wins in each of his first two professional starts, notching 43 saves on 46 shots ... Captured back-to-back Jacques Plante Trophies for posting the QMJHL's lowest goals-against average with Cape Breton in 2005-06 and 2006-07 ... Notched a 55-29-0 record and a 2.52 goals-against average in 103 career QMJHL outings and was named to the league's First All-Star Team in each of his two seasons
--- JASON KROG: Registered one goal in each of the two games this season ... Posted at least one point in 43 of his 46 career regular-season games with the Wolves spanning two seasons ... Ranked fifth in the AHL with a career-high 54 assists and shared seventh in the league with a career-best 80 points in just 44 contests with the Wolves in 2006-07 ... Accrued three goals and three assists in 23 NHL outings with the Atlanta Thrashers and New York Rangers last year
--- BRIAN FAHEY: Notched two goals and three points in two games this season, which includes posting the overtime-winner in Saturday's home opener ... Matched an AHL career-high two points in the season opener against Houston on Oct. 6 ... Tallied AHL career-bests with 11 markers and 29 points in 75 games with Chicago last year
--- JORDAN LaVALLEE: Collected his first point of the season with an assist in Saturday's overtime win against Milwaukee ... Shares the team-lead with a +2 plus/minus rating through the first two tilts of the season ... Ranked second among team rookies with 16 goals and third with 34 points in 79 games with the Wolves last season during his professional debut
--- NATHAN OYSTRICK: Dished out an assist on Saturday's overtime-winning goal, his first point of the season ... Shared fourth among AHL defensemen with 15 goals and ranked third among league blueliners with 47 points in 80 games with Chicago last year ... Selected to the 2006-07 AHL Second All-Star Team and the 2006-07 AHL All-Rookie Team

WOLF TRACKS
--- Chicago's 2-1 overtime victory against Milwaukee on Saturday pushed the franchise's all-time home opener record to 8-5-0-1-0, snapping a streak of three consecutive losses.
--- Saturday's win also improved the franchise's all-time overtime mark to 31-26-32; the contest marked the first time in franchise history that the Wolves posted an extra frame victory in their home opener.
--- The Wolves have opened the scoring in each of their two games this season, a feat the 2006-07 squad accomplished in 46 of its 80 games (34-8-2-2).
--- After a stretch that sees the Wolves play just three games in their first 15 days of the 2007-08 season, the squad will play four times in seven days, starting Sunday in Peoria.
--- Chicago has surrendered just one even-strength goal through the first two games of the season; the Wolves penalty kill has held opponents scoreless on 15 of its 17 man-advantage opportunities, which includes eight of nine in Saturday's home opener.
IN THE COMMUNITY
Wolves players KEVIN DOELL, BRIAN SIPOTZ and COLIN STUART, along with Skates - the team's mascot - will visit the Shriners Children's Hospital in Elmwood Park on Wed., Oct. 17, at 3 p.m., to meet patients, sign autographs and hand out goody bags.
