Game Preview

East will meet west tonight as the Kalamazoo Wings travel to the Budweiser Events Center to battle the Colorado Eagles. Tonight will be the first ever encounter between the teams and it will also be the first of three straight games against one another.

Tonight is game two of a four-game road swing for the K-Wings. Kalamazoo will be looking to snap a two-game road losing streak. With 67 points, the K-Wings are in third place in the North Division. Kalamazoo is five points ahead of the Cincinnati Cyclones and Wheeling Nailers and six points ahead of the Indy Fuel.

With a home record of 22-7-0-2, the Eagles hold one of the top home records in the ECHL Despite the success at home, Colorado enters tonight looking to snap a four-game (0-2-2-0) winless streak. With 83 points, the Eagles are tied with the Ontario Reign for second place in the Pacific Division.

Elusive Company

Tonight will be Sam Ftorek's 400th game as member of the K-Wings. Ftorek becomes the fifth player joining Kevin Schamehorn (1976-90), Mike Wanchuk (1974-80), Brad Berry (1991-99) and Derrick Smith (1991-98) to play 400 or more games for Kalamazoo.

Lighting the Lamp

Forward Ludwig Blomstrand has been on a scoring spree. Blomstrand, who is on a three-game goal and point streak, has recorded 22 goals in his last 25 games, including a span of 18 goals in his last 18 games.

Heading West

This evening Kalamazoo will play their first ever game against the Colorado Eagles. The game will be the first time in the regular season and the first since the 2011 Kelly Cup Finals (Alaska Aces) that the K-Wings will play a road game against a Western Conference opponent.

Family Reunion

Tonight three former K-Wings will be reunited with their former team. Forwards Trent Daavettila (2008-12), Kyle Kraemer (2009-10) and Darryl Bootland (2009-10, 2011-12) are all former members of the K-Wings.
