IceMen Bring in Forward Luke Greiner

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, have signed forward Luke Greiner. After concluding his SPHL season with the Huntsville Havoc on Tuesday, Greiner is expected to make his IceMen debut Friday against Cincinnati and appear in Evansville's home finale this Sunday.

Greiner played 42 games with the Havoc this season where he was a teammate of IceMen forward Mark Anthoine. The Minnesotan scored a team-best 17 goals and picked up 17 assists. Greiner comes to the IceMen on a hot streak. He has scored a goal in each of his last four games and has an active five-game point streak. In 11 March games, Greiner has seven goals and six assists.

Last season, Greiner played 42 games with the South Carolina Stingrays, the IceMen's opponent on Sunday. The 24-year-old potted seven goals and added three assists in his first ECHL season. Greiner has also played for the Mississippi Surge, Pensacola Ice Flyers, and Greenville Road Warriors.

Before turning pro, Greiner played four years of college hockey at Harvard University, where he dressed in 123 games with the Crimson. The 5'10 forward finished his college days with 21 goals and 22 assists.

Greiner is expected to make his home debut on Sunday, when the IceMen return to the Ford Center for their home finale against the South Carolina Stingrays. Evansville's last home game of the season begins at 5 p.m. The Zooperstars will perform during intermission and entertain fans at the game.
