Milner, Mallards Blank Wichita; 100th Quad City Coaching Win for Ruskowski

MOLINE, Ill. (March 27, 2015) - Parker Milner made 26 saves and Joe Perry scored twice as the host Quad City Mallards (33-27-7) blanked the Wichita Thunder (30-27-8) 4-0 Friday night. With the win- Terry Ruskowski's one hundredth as Mallards coach- the third place Mallards widened their lead over fourth place Tulsa to three points and expanded their lead over fifth place Wichita to five points in the Central Division.

The Mallards broke loose for three third period goals after Justin Fox's one timer from the right wing circle broke a scoreless deadlock on the power play at 5:09 of the second period.

Perry doubled the lead from the right wing circle at 9:45 of the third period. Mario Lamoureux's point-blank goal stretched the gap to 3-0 at 16:54 of the third. Perry's empty netter capped off the Mallard victory with 20 seconds left in the game.

Milner was at his busiest in turning aside 14 Thunder shots in the second period.

The Mallards return to action Sunday on the road against the Missouri Mavericks. The Mallards next play at home next Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Brampton Beast. Fans can get four tickets to that game for just $20. After next Wednesday's game, fans can join the Mallards for a postgame party at T.G.I. Friday's on River Drive in Moline.
