Bakersfield Condors News Release
Monday, December 12 : Condors players Kevin Truelson and Scott Borders along with Director of Community Relations Mikie Hayhurst will be speaking to AVID (Advancement Via Individual Education) students at Foothill High School. AVID is a college prep organization that focuses on equipping first generation college-bound students with vital organizational and educational skills. Foothill High School is located at 501 Park Drive in Bakersfield.
Thursday, December 15 : Tune in to KGEO AM 1230 for the Condors Coach's Show from 6- 7pm. Condors Director of Media Relations Devin Rossiter and Head Coach Marty Raymond will be joined by Condors Alexandre Bolduc and Jason Norrie for the broadcast. Due to the team's travel schedule, the Coach's Show will be pre-recorded this week.
Friday, December 16 : Calvary Chapel Westbrook prison fellowship ministries will be holding a holiday party for children who have a parent in prison and Colonel Claw'd is invited. The Condors zany mascot will play Santa's helper and help handout presents. For more information on Calvary Chapel Westbrook, contact Kelly at 397-6000.
Saturday, December 17 : Colonel Claw'd will be attending the grand opening of McDonald's on 7th Standard Road from 11am-1pm. The new McDonald's is located at the 7th Standard Road exit off Highway 99.
Week in Review:
Wednesday, December 7 : Condor Kevin St. Jacques and mascot Colonel Claw'd were thrown into the slammer as part of the Muscular Dystrophy Association's "Lock-Up" at the Holiday Inn Select. The fugitives collected donations for MDA to use as "bail".
Thursday, December 8 : The students of Standard Elementary gathered around as Condors players Justin Quenneville and Reagan Leslie read stories for the school's family night. The students were able to ask questions and get autographs.
Friday, December 9 : The Bakersfield Condors and R&D Leather Furniture sponsored the Stay Focused Ministries Toy Drive. Close to 100 new toys were collected for local children. Friday was also the first Holiday Inn Select DARE Night of the season. Students graduating from the DARE program received complimentary terrace admission to the game.
Saturday, December 10 : Colonel Claw'd joined members of local Kiwanis clubs and helped underprivileged children shop at the Target store on Wible Road. Kiwanis raised money for the shopping expedition and arranged for the store to open one hour early just for the kids.

Friday, December 30 - Saturday, December 31 : The 2nd Annual Condors Fighting Cancer Hockey Thon benefiting the Link to Life Cancer Research Center begins immediately following the Condors home game on Friday, December 30th. The event will conclude with a Condors Legends game, featuring former Condors favorites, Saturday, December 31st at 5pm. Hockey players of all levels are invited to participate.
