South Carolina Stingrays News Release
South Carolina continued its quality play this week going 2-1-1 to improve its record to 9-10-6 on the season. The Rays have a three more games remaining before a brief Christmas break, but the team still has six games remaining in the month of December.
Maxime Daigneault has had a large part in the Stingrays success going 7-0-1 in his last eight appearances. In that stretch the second year netminder has a goals against average of 2.06.
Matt Reid has 11 points in his last ten games including seven goals and four assists. Marty Clapton has four goals and three assists in his last four games.
First round draft pick Jonas Johansson has four point son three goals and an assist in three games with the Stingrays since being sent from the Hershey Bears.
Tuesday, December 6th
Stingrays 7 Vs Pensacola 4
The Rays began the week with a seven goal outburst that included goals from seven different skaters. Ryan Finnerty had the game winner and Maxime Daigneault continued to win making 29 saves.
Friday, December 9th
Stingrays 4 @ Charlotte 5
Blake Bellefeuille's hat trick goal came in overtime for the Charlotte Checkers, who beat the Rays for the fifth straight time this season. The overtime loss snapped a six game winning streak for Maxime Daigneault.
Saturday, December 10th
Stingrays 1 Vs Trenton 2
Rosario Ruggeri scored a short handed goal in the third period to break a scoreless tie and Trenton won for the second time this season over the Stingrays. The Rays now have a record of 0-4 against the North Division.
Sunday, December 11th
Stingrays 3 Vs Greenville 1
Jonas Johansson had two goals for the Stingrays and Maxime Daigneault remained unbeaten in his last eight games (7-0-1) as the Stingrays beat Greenville for the third straight time in three weeks.
