The Johnstown Chiefs (27-31-11; 65 PTS; 5th NW div.) playoff hopes officially ended with their 5-4 loss, Sunday afternoon at Toledo. The Chiefs played three games last week, going 0-1-2. They will finish the regular season this week with three games in three nights, beginning Friday night at Wheeling, followed by home games Saturday night vs. Wheeling and Sunday afternoon vs. Cincinnati. This will be the first time since the 1998-99 season, the Chiefs have not qualified for the post season.

GAME #67 (3/19/03) Lexington 4 – JOHNSTOWN 3 (SO) Sutter Two Goals

The Lexington Men O'War's Ben Storey scored in the sixth round of the shootout to give them a 4-3 win over the Johnstown Chiefs, Wednesday night at the War Memorial. After a scoreless first period, Chiefs forward Sam St. Pierre scored unassisted just 2:39 into the second stanza. Lexington would answer just 0:48 later when Joe Vandermeer scored a power play goal. Lexington gained the lead 1:00 into the third period when Ryan Fultz tallied. The Chiefs tied the game just 0:42 later when Shaun Sutter would score his first of two goals on the evening. Storey would add a power play goal with 11:02 left in regulation to tie the game 3-3. Lexington goalie Dan Murphy picked up the win making 18 saves, while Chiefs goaltender Mark Scally made 30 saves.

GAME #68 (3/21/03) Cincinnati 4 – JOHNSTOWN 3 (OT) Forget Goal, Assist

Cincinnati Cyclones forward Joe Cardarelli's power play goal with 0:59 left in overtime lifted them to a 4-3 win over the Johnstown Chiefs, Friday night at Cincinnati. Steve Hildenbrand, Dominic Forget and Jason Shmyr all scored for the Chiefs. Goaltender Mark Scally made 13 saves, as the Chiefs out shot the Cyclones 30-17 in the contest.

GAME #69 (3/23/03) TOLEDO 5 – Johnstown 4 Sutter Two Goals

Toledo's Jim Brown scored with just 0:07 left in regulation to break a 4-4 tie and give the Storm a 5-4 win over the Chiefs Sunday at Toledo. The Chiefs lead most of the game as three of Toledo's goal's came in the third period; all came on the power play. The loss officially knocked the Chiefs out of the playoff race. Matt Doman scored his first goal in a Chiefs uniform, while Shaun Sutter scored twice, and Steve Hildenbrand also tallied for the Chiefs. Mark Scally suffered the loss, making 30 saves.

The Chiefs are 3-3-1 against the Nailers this season and 55-56-15 all-time. The Nailers have lost two straight games and are 3-7-0 in their last ten games.

Sat. Mar. 29 vs. Wheeling Nailers 7:30 p.m.

Radio: WLYE 850-AM, WVSC 990-AM, WBZV 1400-AM, and www.johnstownchiefs.com Saturday night will be the final time this season the Chiefs face the Wheeling Nailers. It will also be BIC Softwin Razor night. Fans of age, will be receiving a complimentary BIC Softwin razor.

Sun. Mar. 30 vs. Cincinnati Cyclones 2:30 p.m.

Radio: WLYE 850-AM, WVSC 990-AM, WBZV 1400-AM, and www.johnstownchiefs.com Sunday afternoon, will be the Chiefs final game of the season, when they host the Cincinnati Cyclones (34-27-6; 74 PTS, 2nd NW div.) The Chiefs are 1-4-1 against the Cyclones this season. Cincinnati has won three straight games, and is 5-5-0 in their last ten games. The game is also Fan Appreciation Day. Hundreds of prizes will be given away at random to fans throughout the game. The prizes are courtesy of the Chiefs corporate partners.

- Dominic Forget is now the Chiefs leading scorer with 23 goals and 62 points.
- The Chiefs are 13-11-11 in one goal games this season.
