Sundberg recalled by Hartford

The Baton Rouge Kingfish announced today that goaltender Niklas Sundberg has been recalled by the Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League.

Sundberg becomes the second Kingfish to be called up the AHL this season. Tom Kaiman, who was called up to the Lowell Lock Monsters, was the first as he was called up last Thursday.

The Stockholm, Sweden native was assigned by the Wolfpack from Hartford's ECHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, on December 31st. In 22 games with the Kingfish, Sundberg posted a 3.12 goals against average and a .914 save percentage while going 10-10-2.

Sundberg will be available for Hartford's Wednesday night match up with the St. John's Maple Leafs.

The Kingfish are back in action tomorrow when they battle the Mississippi Sea Wolves in Biloxi at 7:05 p.m. Catch all the action on Baton Rouge's Brst R & B, 104.5 WZRB beginning with the Kingfish pre-game show at 6:50 p.m.
