Calgary Hitmen Select Swedish Centre Victor Rask Third Overall in CHL Import Draft

Calgary, AB - Calgary Hitmen General Manager, Executive VP and Alternate Governor Kelly Kisio announced today the selection of Victor Rask with the 3rd overall pick in the 2011 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.

Rask, a 6'0" 196 lbs. centre, was a second round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

"With this pick we wanted to bring in a player who we felt would make an immediate difference to our hockey team and we believe we've done that by selecting Victor," said Kisio. "He's a big strong two-way centre who was one of the top forwards at the 2011 World Under-18 Championship this past April in Germany."

The 18-year-old from Sweden scored five goals and earned six assists (11 points), while playing in 37 games with Leksand of Sweden's second professional division in 2010-11.
