Pats Select Volek in CHL Import Draft

Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats are proud to announce the selection of Czech forward Dominik Volek with the 9th pick in 2011 CHL Import Draft.

Volek, who hails from Praha, Czech Republic, is eligible for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. With Sparta Praha in both the Czech U18 and U20 teams, he played in 45 games scoring 21 times and adding 24 assists. He played for the Czech Republic at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge in Winnipeg and Portage La Prairie, MB this past holiday season.

Volek joins Swedish defenceman, Ricard Blidstrand as the 2 Pats import players. The Pats finished the 2010-11 season with Blidstrand as the lone import on the roster.
