
Silvertips Release 2011-12 Schedule

The Western Hockey League released the official 2011-12 schedule Wednesday, featuring 72 Silvertips games, 36 of which will be played at Comcast Arena. The Silvertips will take part in the ninth home opener in franchise history when they host the rival Kelowna Rockets at Comcast Arena on Saturday, September 24th.
Of the 36 home games, 29 will be played on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Friday games are scheduled to start at 7:35 pm, while Sunday games will begin at 5:05 pm. Saturdays, along with mid-week dates, will begin at 7:05 pm. The fifth annual New Years Eve celebration on Saturday, December 31st against the Moose Jaw Warriors will begin at 6:05 pm.
The East Division will visit Comcast Arena in 2011-12, as Saskatoon, Brandon, Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Regina and Prince Albert will make their first appearances in Everett since the 2009-10 season. The Silvertips will travel to the Central Division this season, featuring games at Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and Kootenay from October 26th through November 4th.
The Silvertips are scheduled to host the rival Seattle Thunderbirds over five dates in 2011-12: Friday, October 21st, Wednesday, December 28th, Wednesday, January 4th, Saturday, January 21st, and Friday, March 2nd. The Silvertips will face U.S. Division rivals Seattle, Spokane and Portland 10 times each, while facing Tri-City eight times in 2011-12.
The Victoria Royals NBr0A73iL7EK2crJjbev_aVcR2v9HTvuhaES-LDnJm05), formerly the Chilliwack Bruins, will wait until Wednesday, March 7th to make their inaugural visit to Comcast Arena.
Everett will open the 2011-12 campaign on the road, traveling to Portland on Friday, September 23rd to open the 2011-12 regular season.
