Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers are proud to announce the selection of Czech forward Adam Rehak with the 54th overall pick in the 2011 CHL Import Draft.

In 51 games with HC Vitkovice of the Czech U20 Jr. League, the 5'11" 179 lb. Rehak tallied 31 goals and 32 assists for 64 points while amassing 105 penalty minutes. He also competed internationally for the Czech Republic, notching 6 goals and 2 assists for 8 points and 8 games on the world stage.

"He's a 19-year-old, so our expectation is that he has to come in and help us right now and we believe he can," states Tigers General Manager Brad McEwen.

"He's got a good offensive pedigree, he's had good numbers playing in the highest Czech leagues the past few years, and has produced offensively in international play as well. We're excited to get him and throw him into the mix with our group of guys and we think it's going to be a good fit."

With the selection, the Tigers will now have three import players competing for just two spots on the team, something McEwen views as beneficial for the club.

"I really think it gives us a lot of flexibility. With the way Sebastian and Patrik improved during the year, I think it's going to be a real good situation coming into camp."
