Calgary Hitmen Select Russian Alexander Gogolev in Second Round of CHL Import Draft

Calgary, AB - Calgary Hitmen General Manager, Executive VP and Alternate Governor Kelly Kisio announced today the selection of Alexander Gogolev with their second round pick in the 2011 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.

Gogolev, a 19-year-old 5'11" 173 lbs. right winger split this past season between MHC Spartak and the Kontinental Hockey League.

"Our scouts watched Alexander play at the 2009 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Port Alberni, BC where he finished fourth in team scoring," said Kisio. "He's a smart player with good skills who also plays with a gritty edge."
