June 3, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release

The Indians made quick work of the Bisons on Wednesday afternoon.

In a game that lasted just over two hours, Indians starter Clayton Richard and reliever A.J. Morris combined to blank the Herd on eight hits in a 3-0 win over Buffalo from Victory Field. The shutout gave the I-Tribe a series victory over the Bisons in what is already the final meeting between these two clubs this year.

Fine by the Bisons!

Buffalo won just once in six games against their long-time rival from during the American Association days -Monday's 12-3 win. Indianapolis swept the Herd last week in Buffalo and closed out another series win with Wednesday's victory in two hours and nine minutes.

Richard worked two outs into the Bisons eighth inning to outduel Buffalo starter Daniel Norris. Richard allowed eight hits, but they were all singles. He also didn't walk a batter and struck out four. Morris closed out the win for his second save of the season.

Norris, meanwhile, was racking up the strikeouts. The southpaw collected eight in all, but one proved costly. Norris fanned Tony Sanchez on a wild pitch in the first inning, and with the bases loaded, Keon Broxton scored from third for the game's first run.

Norris allowed three total runs over seven innings in falling to 1-4 on the season. Pedro Florimon hit a solo home run off the southpaw in the second inning and scored in the seventh inning on a double by Broxton.

The Bisons will now travel to Louisville for the start of a four-game series against the Bats starting Thursday night.

BISONS NOTES:

Andy Burns, Dalton Pompey and Sean Ochinko all had multiple hits for the Bisons...Gregory Infante worked a scoreless inning of relief, his eighth straight outing without allowing a run...Buffalo was just 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
