
Pigs and Wings Set for Twin Bill

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Rochester Red Wings will play a doubleheader on Wednesday. First pitch of game one at Coca-Cola Park is set for 6:05 p.m. with game two to start roughly 30 minutes after the end of game one. Lehigh Valley enters play at 20-32 after dropping two of three at Charlotte. The Red Wings sit atop the North Division at 27-23 but dropped two of three to Buffalo before rain postponed the series finale on Sunday.
LHP Joely Rodriguez (2-4, 5.27) will be on the bump for the Pigs in game one. Rodriguez took the loss in his last start as he allowed four runs on five hits while walking three over six innings of work on May 27 at Gwinnett. The southpaw is 2-2 with a 3.69 ERA in his last 5 GS and will be making his second start of the year against the Wings. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native earned his first win of the season at Rochester on May 16 after allowing three runs on nine hits while fanning five in 5.2 iP.
LHP Jason Wheeler (1-3, 6.02) gets the ball for manager Mike Quade's squad in game one. Last time out, Wheeler surrendered five runs on seven hits to go along with three strikeouts over 5.0 IP at Durham on May 25. Back on May 15, the Torrance, Calif. native gave up four runs on eight hits over 5.2 IP vs. the IronPigs. Wheeler has posted a 1-2 mark with a 7.14 ERA in his last 5 GS.
In game two, RHP Phillippe Aumont (2-2, 2.08) gets the start for Lehigh Valley. The right-hander was charged with the loss on Thursday at Gwinnett after allowing three runs on one hit to go along with six walks and two strikeouts over 3.2 IP. Aumont currently leads the International League in opponents' batting average against with foes hitting just .180 against him.
RHP Lester Oliveros (2-1, 2.38) is expected to be on the mound for Rochester in the nightcap. His last outing came in relief on Saturday when he allowed a walk-off home run to the only batter he faced (Buffalo's Brad Glenn) and was dealt the loss. As a whole, Oliveros has made 16 appearances and one start this season. To date, the lone start came back on April 25 vs. Syracuse when he gave up just one hit while fanning nine over four shutout innings but got a no-decision.
Wednesday is Health Fair Night presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network and Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays Ladies Night. There is also "A Taste of Bacon, USA" event where fans will have the chance to sample some of the IronPigs' most unique and savory bacon-related menu items beginning at 6 p.m. on the Coordinated Health Club Level.
