
Binnington Named CCM Rookie of the Month

Kalamazoo, MI- Goaltender Jordan Binnington made Kalamazoo Wings ECHL history this afternoon by becoming the first member of the organization, since joining the league in 2009, to receive the league's CCM Rookie of the Month.
Receiving the award for his efforts in the December, Binnington went 6-2-0-0 with a 1.74 goals-against-average and a 0.941 save percentage in eight appearances.
Highlighting Binnington's month was the netminder's first professional shutout on December 7th on against the Greenville Road Warriors. Binnington earned the victory by making 36 saves in the 2-0 win for Kalamazoo.
The native of Richmond Hill, Ontario allowed two or fewer goals five of his eight appearances in the month and has won four out his last five starts.
Binnington and the K-Wings will continue their three-game home stand tonight, Friday, January 3rd as the team battles the Cincinnati Cyclones at Wings Stadium at 7:30 p.m. during Biggest Loser Night.
Fans looking for a healthy New Year's Resolution can compete in the K-Wings Biggest Loser competition. Anyone coming to the game tonight can be weighed to be part of the season long completion. Fans will be weighed again during the K-Wings last regular season home game, individual that loses the most weight will receive a FREE six-month member to the Kalamazoo Athletic Club and $500 in cash and prizes.
The K-Wings will wrap up the home stand on Saturday, January 4th with a 7:30 p.m. encounter versus the Toledo Walleye during Nick Bootland Bobblehead Night.
This will be Kalamazoo's first bobblehead giveaway in 12 years. The first 2,000 fans that come through the main entrances (Doors 1 and 10) of Wings Stadium will receive a limited edition Nick Bootland Bobblehead that features Bootland in half K-Wings jersey and have suit.
Bootland played for the K-Wings for four seasons (2003-2008), was captain for three of those years, and was a member of the team's last championship season in 2005-2006. With 212 victories, Bootland is also the K-Wings all-time leader in coaching victories.
Tickets for all K-Wings home games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000 . Ticket office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays.
Regular season ticket prices for home games are $13 and $17.50 for adults and only $7 for kids ages 12 and under. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice games and the New Year's Eve game) are just $1 more. Fans can save money by purchasing K-Wings single-game tickets in advance. Tickets purchased on the day of a game increase by $2 (adults only).
Fans that plan on attending multiple games can avoid service fees plus enjoy a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 12, 24 or 36-game flexi-plan.
