THROWBACK NIGHT / TEDDY BEAR TOSS

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: Tonight the Cyclones will open up the 2014 portion of the schedule in the same way they ended 2013 - with a road battle against the Kalamazoo Wings. The North Division rivals have battled very closely this season, with five of the seven games in the 2013-14 series being decided by two goals or less. Remarkably, tonight's meeting will be the last at Wings Stadium during the regular season.

SCOUTING THE WINGS: Despite the win on Tuesday, the Wings have cooled off a bit of late, going just 5-5 in their last ten games. They currently sit six points back of the Cyclones in the North Division standings and rank seventh in the Eastern Conference. Yanni Gourde, who had a pair of tallies (1 goal, 1 assist) on Tuesday, ranks atop the Wings scoring leaderboard with 14 goals and 18 assists this year. His offensive totals rank seventh-most in the ECHL. Eric Kattelus has found great success against his former team as well, posting five lamp lighters and five assists in the season series with Cincinnati. Overall, he has amassed 26 points in 27 contests. Jordan Binnington, who made 30 saves to earn the win on Tuesday, has played three of the last four games for Kalamazoo. Overall, he is 10-6-0 with a 2.23 goals-against average. Joel Martin, meanwhile, is 5-5-0-2 with a 2.63 GAA.

About New Years Eve in Kalamazoo: The Cyclones nearly capped off another impressive late-game rally, however, the Wings were able to prevent an equalizer to earn a 4-3 win in front of 3,540 at Wings Stadium. Paul Crowder, Dan Eves, and Jack Combs all scored goals for the Cyclones, who had their winning streak halted at four games.

Luciani's Luster: Having tallied points in four of his last five games, the third-year pro has risen to the top of the Cyclones active leaderboard in points (20). Cincinnati is 11-2-0 when #11 puts his name on the score sheet.

Closer Clones: Cincinnati has been nearly impossible to beat when leading after 40 minutes of play this season. They've amassed a 13-0-1 record in such situations, which gives them the third most victories in this category of any ECHL team.
