ECHL Announces Fines, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Friday announced the following fines and suspensions resulting from ECHL Game #322, Utah at Orlando, on Jan. 2.

Orlando's Trevor Gillies has been suspended for five games and fined an undisclosed amount. Following a review of the game, Gillies is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline, for a violation of Rule #70.3.

Gillies will miss Orlando's games against Utah (Jan. 3 and Jan. 5), at Gwinnett (Jan. 10 and Jan. 11) and at Florida (Jan. 17).

Orlando's Ian Slater has been suspended for four games and fined an undisclosed amount. Following a review of the game, Slater is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline, for violations of Rule #40.4 and Rule #70.3.

Slater will miss Orlando's games against Utah (Jan. 3 and Jan. 5) and at Gwinnett (Jan. 10 and Jan. 11).

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
