Stingrays Fall to Gladiators on Family Four Pack Friday

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays (23-6-1-2) fell to the Gwinnett Gladiators (11-19-0-2) 4-0 at the North Charleston Coliseum Friday evening, snapping a four-game winning streak.

Gladiators forward Brenden Walker broke a scoreless tie 2:48 into the second period slipping a shot over the glove of Stingrays goaltender Jeff Jakaitis (L, 25 saves on 29 shots) from the left-wing circle. Forward Maxime Legault gave the Gladiators a two-goal lead moments later with his seventh goal of the season. With 57 seconds remaining in the period, Gladiators leading scorer Evan Bloodoff made it 3-0, his 11 tally of the campaign and fifth against the Stingrays.

Bloodoff wrapped up the game scoring on the power play at 11:35 of the third period. Gladiators goaltender Brad Philips picked up his first shutout of the season stopping all 39 Stingrays shots. The Stingrays finished the contest 0-for-7 on the power play while the Gladiators went 1-for-2.
