Two Skaters Added to Jackals Lineup

WHEELING, W.Va. - January 3, 2014 -The Elmira Jackals announced today that defenseman Maxim Lamarche has been reassigned to the club by the National Hockey League's Philadelphia Flyers from Adirondack of the American Hockey League. Also the Jackals have signed defenseman Steve Brown.

Lamarche, 21, returns to the Jackals after seeing his first ever AHL action with the Phantoms. Lamarche was reassigned to Adirondack immediately following the Jackals' home game on December 26 and logged three games with the Phantoms. The 6-3, 220-pound rookie defender has three points (2 goals, 1 assist) and 10 penalty minutes in 20 games with the Jackals.

Brown, 24, is a third-year pro from Fayetteville, North Carolina. The 6-3, 225 pound defenseman has played each of the last three years in the Federal Hockey League. This season he has notched five points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 15 games for the Danbury Whalers. Last year he split time between Danbury and Cape Cod, where he began his pro career in 2011, and was a part of the Whalers FHL title run.

Additionally, defenseman Nick Tuzzolino has been loaned to Rochester of the American Hockey League. Acquired in a trade with Fort Wayne on November 25, Tuzzolino has skated in four games for the Jackals and collected two penalty minutes. He has one goal and a +1 rating in nine games for Rochester this season.

Lamarche and Brown have joined the Jackals in Wheeling and are expected to be in the lineup for tonight's game against the Nailers.
