Memphis Redbirds News Release
MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds concluded a six-game series against the Charlotte Knights with an 5-1 win at Truist Park on Sunday night.
First baseman Luken Baker got the scoring started and kept the Redbirds rolling with a pair of RBI singles in Sunday's win. Baker finished the night 2-for-4 with a walk and three RBI. Second baseman Nick Dunn added some insurance late with his first career Triple-A home run.
Two of the newest Redbirds arms combine to shut down the Knights without allowing an earned run. Logan Gragg (3-0) made his second start and fourth appearance with Memphis and tossed 7.0 innings of one-run baseball. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits, walked one and struck out four. Chris Roycroft shut out Charlotte in the final two frames to close out the win.
With the effort, Gragg lowered his Triple-A ERA to 0.50 in 18.0 innings of work with Memphis this season. The Prairie Grove, Arkansas native was drafted in the eighth round of the 2019 draft out of Oklahoma State University and joined Memphis on July 5.
The Redbirds (49-47) return to AutoZone Park on Tuesday, July 25 to begin a six-game homestand at 7:05p.m. CDT against the Iowa Cubs.
