Awe Returns from AHL Providence

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that defenseman Jon Awe has been reassigned to the Gladiators from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

Awe appeared in one game with the Bruins while on recall to the AHL. The Memphis, Tennessee native did not record a point while with the Bruins. Awe appeared in 17 games in the AHL games earlier this season with the Portland Pirates where he recorded an assist. He also picked up 8 penalty minutes while with Portland.

The rookie out of Northeastern University has recorded 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points in 28 games this season with the Gladiators. Awe led Northeastern University defensemen during his junior season with 13 points.

Awe should be available for the Gladiators for Friday's 7:30 p.m. tilt in Florida against the Everblades.

The Gwinnett Gladiators continue the 2005-06 ECHL season on the road on Friday, February 24th as they travel to Florida to take on the Everblades at 7:30 p.m. The Gladiators offer several ticket packages for different needs as well as group outings, suites and birthday parties.
