Rays Send Harloff to Florida for Strome

North Charleston, SC The South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that the Stingrays traded defenseman Nick Harloff to the Florida Everblades for forward Anders Strome. The team will be without Harloff tonight when they host the Columbia Inferno and hope to add Strome in time for tomorrow's home game with the Augusta Lynx.

Strome was acquired earlier this season by the Everblades from the Long Beach Ice Dogs. He comes to the Rays having tallied 14 points (6g, 8a) in 28 games with Florida. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native scored 35 goals last season in the CHL with the Lubbock Cotton Kings. He played his college hockey at the University of Massachusetts - Lowell. Strome, a third year professional stands 6'-3" and weighs 210lbs.

"We hate to give up a player that has worked as hard as Nick (Harloff)," commented Fitzsimmons. "But we feel Anders addresses a need for more goal scoring up front."

Harloff had seven points in 26 games with the Stingrays on two goals and five assists.

The Stingrays are home for three games in three nights this weekend against Columbia, Augusta and Charlotte on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Its the Stingrays Home Show presented by Charleston Home and Design Magazine, with exhibitors on the concourse all weekend long. Friday night is Family Fun Friday, four tickets, four hot dogs, four cokes and popcorn just 44$. Saturday is Hit the Road with the Rays Night, presented by Advance Auto Parts and Sunday is Kids Day with Free tickets for Kids Presented by Chick Fil A on Dorchester Rd.
