Johnstown Chiefs News Release

The Johnstown Chiefs had no margin for error. Fortunately, they needed none, beating the Toledo Storm, 1-0. Morgan Cey stopped all 30 shots he faced, for his second career shutout. Drew McIntyre was the hard luck loser, stopping 15 of 16.

Doug Andress, along with Cey, were the Chiefs star performers. Andress took a feed from Dmitri Tarabrin and wristed it past Toledo goalie, Drew McIntyre, at 11:31 of the second period for the game's only goal.

Andress was also on a mission in the third period, registering several big hits in the defensive zone.

The Chiefs were 0-4 on the power play, but killed off all four chances against them. The Chiefs registered just 16 shots on goal, but had more quality chances than the Storm, who put 30 on Cey.

The Chiefs defense did their job, keeping newly acquired Matt Zultek away from the front of the cage. Zultek, a 6-foot-4 and 210 pound winger, had five shots, but no quality scoring chances.

The Chiefs closed to within four points of Toledo for third place in the North Division, and three points ahead of Trenton.

The Chiefs host the Dayton Bombers, Saturday, as U.S. Army Weekend continues. WWE Superstar, Sgt. Slaughter will be signing autographs and posing for pictures. The puck drops at 7pm. Sunday is Heluva Good Quality Food Kids Day. All child tickets are free with the purchase of an adult ticket. Call 1-800-Slapshot for more details.
