Nailers win 5-2 over Trenton

TRENTON, NJ - The Wheeling Nailers ended their seven game road streak tonight in New Jersey against their North Division rival the Trenton Titans. With a win the Nailers would end the road trip 5-2 and move their magic number to 12 points.

In the first period the Nailers struck twice taking an early lead 2-0. Brendon Hodge's 14th goal of the season at 2:27, from Collins and Cameron made it 1-0 Nailers. At 10:51 Mike Doyle lit the lamp for his sixth goal of the year making it 2-0 Nailers.

In the second period Sean Collins tallied his eighteenth goal of the season going top shelf on Titan goaltender Scott Stirling making it 3-0 Nailers at 1:11.

In the third period Andy Franck played spectacular stoning all of the Titan shots but one. With 9 seconds left in the game the titans pulled the goaltender and beat Franck to make it 3-1. But a second later Brendon Hodge took the face off and blasted it into the empty net to give the Nailers a 4-1 win. With the win and a Dayton loss to Reading the Nailers magic number is now just 10 points.
