
Admirals Sign D Jamie Fritsch To Tryout Contract

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals have signed defenseman Jamie Fritsch to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
Fritsch, 24, is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound defenseman born in Odenton, Maryland. A rookie professional, Fritsch has spent this season with the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators and has recorded two assists in 32 games.
Last season, Fritsch made his professional debut by playing in one game with the Philadelphia Flyers on an Amateur Tryout Contract. He made his debut on April 12 in Philadelphia against the New York Rangers.
That debut came upon the completion of a four-year collegiate career at the University of New Hampshire. In 146 career games with the Wildcats, Fritsch scored 11 goals and 28 assists for 39 points. He was a teammate of current Admiral Matt Fornataro with New Hampshire from 2005-06 to 2007-08.
The Admirals will host the Hartford Wolf Pack tonight and tomorrow night at Scope. Both games begin at 7:15 p.m.
Tonight, the first 500 kids age 12 and under through the gates will receive a Lil' Kinz courtesy of In Motion Physical Therapy & Sports Performance and WTKR NewsChannel3.
