Dawgs Name Jeff Jones as Assistant Coach, Joining Nick Devito

SPHL Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs September 17, 2025 - The Rail Yard Dawgs announced that former player, Jeff Jones, will return to Roanoke as Assistant Coach alongside Nick Devito for the upcoming 2025-26 season. Revelstoke, British Columbia native, Jeff Jones, signed to the Rail Yard Dawgs in the 2018-19 season and wore #24 throughout his three seasons with the Dawgs, as a right wing. Jones is now heading back to Roanoke, as Assistant Coach, alongside Nick DeVito who has been Assistant Coach since the 2023-24 season. Jones and Devito will work with Head Coach Dan Bremner. ... SPHL Fayetteville Marksmen September 17, 2025 - FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Fayetteville Marksmen, proud members of the SPHL, are pleased to announce the signing of defenseman Alex Davis for the 2025-26 season. Davis, 25, played the last four seasons at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where he recorded 41 points (8g+33a) in 108 games. The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, native was a plus-20 in his collegiate career and has a winning pedigree, having won a USPHL Premier championship as captain of the Charlotte Rush in 2021. SPHL Expanding to Mobile, AL for 2027-2028 Season

SPHL September 17, 2025 - HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The SPHL today announced that it will be expanding to Mobile, AL, following a unanimous vote of approval by the league's Board of Governors. The team will be owned and operated by Zawyer Sports & Entertainment, led by CEO Andy Kaufmann, and is set to begin play in Mobile for the 2027-28 SPHL season.
