
Wranglers Double Down on Gulls 4-2

Las Vegas, NV â The Las Vegas Wranglers (14-12-4, 32 points) defeated the San Diego Gulls (15-9-4, 34 points) 4-2 on Tuesday night in front of 3,700 fans. Forwards Darren Lynch, Dustin Johner, Chris Stanley and defenseman Ryan Gaucher each scored in the win. Goalie Marc Magliarditi made 25 saves for his seventh win of the season. Las Vegas scored three power-play goals for the third straight game, on their way to their third straight win. The Wranglers will host Peoria on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 pm.
In the first period, the two teams traded goals as Scott Borders got the scoring started for San Diego just 2:22 into the contest. Las Vegas tied the game at one when Ryan Gaucher scored on the power play with only eight seconds remaining in the period. Gaucher's fifth of the season was the first goal Las Vegas scored against San Diego in a span of 79:52.
In the second period, Las Vegas took a 2-1 lead on Chris Stanley's seventh power-play goal of the season at 7:40. San Diego's Mark Pederson scored a 5-on-3 power-play goal three minutes later to tie the game at two. Wranglers' forward Dustin Johner tallied his team-leading 12th goal of the season for the 3-2 lead at 13:09 of the middle period.
Las Vegas sealed the win when Darren Lynch redirected a centering pass from Jeff Attard to cap off a 2-on-1 breakaway. Lynch's third goal of the season gave Las Vegas a 4-2 lead just 5:43 in the third period.
The Wranglers will host a two-game home stand against the Peoria Rivermen this weekend on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 pm. Friday, January 7th the Wranglers will hand out 1,500 fuzzy dice. Saturday January 8th, the Wranglers will host the Port-O-Subs pre-game party from 4:00 â 6:00 pm in the parking lot of the Orleans Arena. STAR 102.7 FM will be on hand to provide live entertainment. Also, on Saturday January 8th the Wranglers will celebrate Elvis Presley's birthday by giving away 1,000 Elvis sunglasses with sideburns. The team will also wear commemorative jerseys in honor of Presley. The specialty jerseys will be auctioned off during the game.
Tickets for all games are on sale now. Fans may purchase seats to the Wranglers Opening Night on November 2nd as well as all other 35 regular season home games and both pre-season games at any of the following ticket locations; The Orleans Arena Box Office, Coast Casinos' showroom box offices at The Orleans, Gold Coast and Suncoast, or at the Boulevard, Galleria or Meadows Malls guest relations/ticket centers.
