Augusta Lynx News Release

The Augusta Lynx announced today that rookie left wing Ken Magowan has been selected to the American Conference team for this year's Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game to be played on Wednesday, January 26th in Reading, PA.

Assigned to the Lynx by the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League, Magowan was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the seventh round, #198 overall, of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. After playing four years at Boston University, where he won two Beanpot titles, Magowan capped his senior year with five games with the River Rats. This season he attended training camp with the River Rats before being assigned to the Lynx, where he currently leads the team in goals with 11 and plus/minus with a +5 rating.

"It's a tremendous honor," said Magowan. "I'm just thankful that I've gotten off to a good start this year and have been able to produce offensively. This will be a great experience and opportunity for me."

The Kelowna, BC native will represent Augusta in both the Coors Light ECHL All-Star Skills Competition on Tuesday, January 25th and the Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game on Wednesday, January 26th. The Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game will be televised locally on Comcast Sports Southeast, with radio coverage pending.
